dc.description.abstract | Octupole deformations play a significant role in the rare-earth region of the nuclear chart. We will study the ground state properties in the even-even Sm isotopes, and investigate the role of octupole deformation and its effect on several ground state properties, such as binding energy, binding energy per nucleon, neutron and proton mean radii, and two neutron separation energy. For this investigation covariant density functional theory with BCS approximation for the pairing correlation will be employed. | en_US |
