Abstract: This article is a critical refl ection on gender politics in the Occupied West Bank and Gaza over the last 30 years. It traces the increasing professionalization of the women’s movement from the 1970s through the Oslo year to the contemporary period. The article explores the problematic impact of both professionalization and internationalization on the possibilities of Palestinian women’s and social movements for change.
