Title: | “Penser la Palestine en réseaux | Authors: | EL Sakka, Abaher Véronique Bontemps Al Husseini, Jalal Dot-Pouillard, Nicolas |
Keywords: | Palestine question;Networks;Everyday practices | Issue Date: | Nov-2020 | Abstract: | Thinking the Palestinian question through networks, thinking the concept of networks through the Palestinian question: this book intends to respond to two major concerns. It questions a concept that has been in vogue in the social sciences in recent years. It also questions Palestinian dynamics that are not necessarily obvious. The different chapters of this book thus show how Palestinians have defied territorial constraints through the net, operate in networks in the shadow of the proto-state institution of the Palestinian National Authority, reproduce or fight against hierarchies of status in Ramallah, create citizenship within the constraints of the diaspora, extend Palestine through art, from the local to the global, but also how non-Palestinian "internationals" weave new sociabilities and modes of action in the occupied Palestinian Territories or perpetuate the customs and meanings of a Palestinian struggle that is also a transcontinental symbol. These are all uses of networks that give rise, more than discourses, to everyday practices in some cases, and militant modes of action in others. Creative and flexible, these take place in Palestinian worlds criss-crossed by regimes of constraints that have become particularly "inflexible". | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/20.500.11889/6629 | ISSN: | 9791097093105 |
