Abstract: : In this paper, an FD scheme for detecting sensor faults in Lateral dynamics system is presented. The main contribution is to present an analytical solution to design residual generator using parity space approach in order to handle the time varying parameter in the system. The designed residual generator is realized in an observer structure which provides numerical stability by on-line realization. This proposed scheme can be applied for both continues and discrete systems. The results were implemented in Matlab/Simulink and tested with CarMaker software as realistic vehicle simulator
