The anaerobic reactions of ferric salts with glutathione and related thiols have been studied by Mijssbauer spectroscopy and fast reaction kinetic techniques. In all cases the final product contains iron( Kinetic experiments show the presence of blue intermediate(s) on the reaction pathway. These results are discussed in terms of an overall scheme, and possible binding sites on the thiols are proposed-
