dc.description.abstract | Reactions of ferric and ferrous salts with glutathione and related thiols have been studied by Mossbauer spectroscopy and pH titrations. In all cases the final product is an iron complex. Both oxidised and reduced glutathione bind iron in the pH range 3-7 via the carboxylate groups. Interestingly, glutathione solubilizes iron up to pH 7. | - |
